The Need

​On September 19th , 2017, Hurricane Maria devastated the Caribbean island of Dominica, reducing classrooms and school resources to rubble.

​​Devastation to Schools

​The impact on education in Dominica has been disastrous and the challenge of rebuilding is staggering.  ​Ninety percent of all school infrastructure was fully destroyed or damaged by 280 km/h winds and punishing rain. The photos below show examples of Dominican schools in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
